The Teaching of Hazrat Inayat Khan

The idea of reincarnation often comforts those who think that it is too soon to renounce the pleasures of life in order to commune with God. "Perhaps," they say, "in our next life on earth we shall achieve what we have not achieved in this." Also, it consoles those who have lost their loved ones, for they think these are not lost for ever, but will be born again, and often they look for them whenever a child is born among their acquaintances. It consoles those people too who have not obtained the fruit of their desires in this life and have always longed and hoped for something which they could not get; these build their whole hope on gaining it in their next incarnation.
